Kobe loves the 80's

Kobe Bryant scored 81 (yes, 81!!!) points for the Lakers against the Raptors on Sunday. That's the second highest individual score ever... and the greatest individual basketball scoring performance I've seen in my life - albeit the next day.

Over 60% shooting, 7 three-pointers and 18-20 from the free throw line. Remarkable.

Yes, Wilt got a 100 without the 3-point line... but these performances are so rare, I think it doesn't take anything away from Elgin Baylor or Wilt to call Kobe's exploits on this night the best performance ever.

Like him or hate him, it's hard not to respect his basketball and his drive on a night like this.

Vince Young wins it for Texas (photo courtesy cnnsi.com)
Vince Young was a star in Texas' thrilling 41-38 win over USC and its multitude of superstar college players. USC's 34 game record is snapped. Texas has proven itself at last. What a great game. Hook 'em horns!
